10th December 2016 (Saturday) – Batemans Bay
In the morning we headed up to the Catalina
Country Club to play a round of golf. We had to play the second half first since
a men’s competition was scheduled and then had a mid-round break before
starting the first 9 holes. The course was flat with a fair few kangaroos but
not as many as in Eden nor as threatening.

The club house was big with a bar, a café
area and a very large number of pinball machines and betting booth. This appears
to be common to many tavern-type establishments in Australia.
In the evening we ate at JJ’s @ The Marina,
where we had shark, which was very good, but we had an outside table and the temperature
was cooling down fast. Fortunately, they had one blanket left, which suited
Sheila fine.

We would normally have found another restaurant but we wanted to
see “The Founder” at the cinema and were running out of time. The Founder is the
story of McDonald's founder, Ray Kroc - well worth watching.
