1st January 2017 Margaret River

Phil and I took another early trip down to the beach before anyone had risen.  The plan was to do a bit of snorkeling, although I just had a pair of swimming goggles.

Early morning snorkel at Surfer's Point

Again the car park was full of surfer’s vehicles and probably more than the day before but there was much less action on the waves. I only saw three small plain fish in the water.

After a great breakfast prepared by Dave of scrambled eggs, bacon and spicy sausages we headed down to one of the beaches in Prevelly to go for a swim. (Dave and Jana had joined us in the house a few days earlier and were windsurfing friends of Phil and Becks. Dave is English and Jana is Australian. They had lived in Perth but were both now working in the London area. Jana’s parents lived in Perth.)

The afternoon was one for just chilling out and taking stock of the trip ahead over the next few days.

Dave and Jana prepared a superb barbecued meal of prawns and steak in the evening accompanied by plenty of red wine and followed by chocolates and strawberries.
